Hello everyone! I'm Autumn and I'm just starting to get into BJDs. Well, I guess that isn't quite accurate. For a long while I've been one of those people who admire from a distance. Ogle over the pretty and fancily dressed bjds at conventions and the like. But as neat as I thought they were they always seemed way to expensive and I don't know I just couldn't really see myself getting into the hobby enough to justify spending that much money. That is, until I discovered that anthro and animal bjds are a thing. A couple months ago I saw that short Pipos animation and I decided to look into it. Mostly because that ending was sad and weirdly empty so I thought maybe I'd find answers, but instead I found very pretty cat dolls, stunning rabbit dolls, and super duper cute mice and froggies! But as usual it was far out of my price range so I bookmarked the website and said "later." Not too long after a toy collecting blog that I follow on tumblr posted a photoset to the Aileen snow dragons. That is when I kind of realized that maybe there were more bjds than I thought that were super relevant to my interests, and that maybe just maybe I should start out with one of those dragons instead of a Pipos (if only because I already have a dragon collection and an affinity for dragons in general). But first decided I needed to do some digging. There were clearly way more anthro/animal bjds than I originally anticipated so I needed to find more! I asked around a bit on tumblr, added quite a few companies to my bookmarks, did even more research, and came to a conclusion.
That conclusion being "screw saving up I'm getting a Hujoo Freya because I can totally afford that right now and I'm way too exited to wait now." Hehe!
I bought her directly from the company website so I could get the option with a face-up. My painting skills are mediocre enough on a flat surface, I'm sure I'd botch the job if I tried it myself and being as new as I am I wasn't quite sure who to turn too (plus the pink accents are super nice, I also got their pink and blue style cat's eyes which I think will look lovely). She's not here yet though, but they received my payment last night (or today for Korea, given timezones) so as you can imagine I'm checking my e-mail way more frequently than usual hoping for an e-mail saying she's been shipped... Even though I am well aware it might be a couple of days. I'm not too sure what I'm going to do for clothes yet. I can sew and crochet but I recently moved with my family and we couldn't fit everything on the truck so my fabrics and yarn and crochet needles are at my grandparent's house until we can get everything back down... On the bright side I do have thread and sewing needles and there is a Jo-Ann nearby... Well we shall see! And I'm totally going to take pictures (likely with my crummy webcam unfortunately) when she gets here clothes or not!
